I have been frequenting this 'bucks since they opened. As a rule my husband and I just get brewed coffee to go-not the fancy drinks. We are rather cyclical about going, perhaps twice in one week and not again for 2 weeks. The staff has always been "nice", with a few exceptions, but not that nice. I have never been engaged nor called by my name. I usually leave feeling like an unpopular 7th grade girl. But with a freshly scored bag of drugs---clearly we keep going back for a reason:)

To hell with the customer. On a cold winter's day with with doors opening and closing a coffee house should, at the minimum, be inviting and WARM! This place was freezing . People would get their coffee and sit down. Within 3 or 4 minutes they would grab their coffee and vacate. When my wife complained to a trio of very young baristas in shirt sleeves, she was met with blank stares. Sure it's warmer behind the bar but doesn't the customer count for something? Before we left she agin approached the 3 baristas and pointed out that each remaining customer was keeping a heavy coat on, asking, "is this right?" Agin the the blank stares. No one answered.

This is my neighborhood Starbucks and I'm there at least 4-5 times weekly. During the week, I'm always greeted by name by Reita, the best barista I've ever had at a Starbucks. When she is on the machine, my mocha is always made correctly and with the chocolate mixed in and not settled to the bottom. I think you would be HARD PRESSED to find better baristas at any other Starbucks in KC than the morning weekday baristas. It feels they try really hard to get your drink and your breakfast made how you wish every time. I've also sat in this Starbucks for a half day here and there to work and noticed the wifi speed could use a boost. I did get kicked off a few times as well. I do feel the music was way too loud at times too. Some smaller kids were covering their ears nearby. Also at other times, the music was completely off and I was hearing conversations of other people, which was a little uncomfortable. Too many details! LOL! I think the music issue can be said about any location though and I've seen people approach the staff here and they have turned the volume down. I only refrain from 5 stars due to the fact it can get CRAZY busy on the weekend, even past noon but I'm not really sure they can help that all the time. One thing I think that can be helped is the layout of the "for purchase" items that are in the way for the lines sometimes. It's also been noticable lately that when they get a delivery during the week in the late afternoon, the boxes can sometimes still be there the next morning, making the lines the next morning a pain to navigate. A few months ago, that wasn't an issue at all. I've also had some issues in the late afternoons with getting the correct drink. But after years of great service and great baristas, I can overlook a few blips without now and again. For an overall good place to snag a good brewed coffee, latte, mocha or pastry, you can't go wrong with this Starbucks in the Northland.

Never had a problem at this location. Everyone is super nice and friendly plus they keep the place very clean. I have never had to wait more than 7 min tops for a drink when it's busy, that includes ordering it and the time it takes for it to be made. I never sit outside, I like a comfy chair if I'm going to stay and there are plenty inside. It does have the most seating for any of the other locations I've been to. This location is my second most visited in KC only down side is that it doesn't have a drive thru. Most of the time I just want my java fix to go so I'd rather go to the location on Main st and 41st.

Perfectly nice Starbucks, but didn't blow me out of the water. It has a very open plan, and I'm partial to the locations that have a bit of a cozier feel. They do have a lot of different seating options, which is nice. Cushy chairs, long tables, and single/double tables with enough room for your laptop and drink. If you're looking to just grab a drink, this location is just fine, but if you want to hunker down with your laptop for a while, I'd recommend heading a few miles over to the 6234 NW Barry Rd Starbucks.

The large layout of this starbucks makes it comfortable to work on your laptop, but the wifi is poor quality here. Service is average but pretty slow, I've noticed, after 3-4 visits.

Admittedly, I have a really uppity view on coffee shops. In fact, I walked in to work the other day and not one, but two people gave me a hard time about having a Starbucks cup. The thing is, Starbucks is a mega corporation and not a lot of people like mega corporations. But those that don't care, help keep them mega. This Starbucks is what Starbucks is supposed to be - a bastion of pseudo-culture in a cultureless world. This is where people go to be fancy. -end rant- This Starbucks is 5 blocks from my Mother's and my ex's houses (two different houses), so I'm nearby often. And it's right in the middle of land-locked Gladstone with no local coffee shops within a 10 minute drive. The "baristas" are friendly and helpful. Even though it's often a couple months between visits, they often remember my drink. The place is clean and well decorated. So, it's a Starbucks. More or less the same as the other 16,634 other locations.

This location is always friendly and bustling. I won't say "busy" because I've never had to wait a long time even when it looks packed. The Cinnamon Dolce Latte is my favourite Fall/Winter drink. The bathrooms have been clean everytime I've used them. Ilike to stop here with my daughter who's 10. They make her drink less hot without my even asking.

Gotta say, this is consistently the worst Starbucks in terms of atmosphere and quality of drinks. The staff is not friendly or inviting. The quality of espresso is poor, even to Starbucks standards. The only reason I have gone here because it is close to home. By far, the best northland Starbucks experience is at the Super Target in Liberty. Go there instead and get treated right!
